Lindsey Lind

President & COO

Lindsey Lind has served the past eight years in the congressional and gubernatorial offices of Vice President Mike Pence.  With a bachelor’s degree in accounting and business administration and a master’s degree in public affairs with a concentration in policy analysis, Lind has served as Legislative Assistant in Washington, D.C. and Director of Public Health and Family Policy in Governor Pence’s Indianapolis office. Some of her roles included:

 

Director of Public Health & Family Policy – 2013 to 2017

  • Oversaw administrative operations, strategic priorities, and policy decisions for the State Department of Health, the Department of Child Services, the Civil Rights Commission, and other state agencies
  • Oversaw all public policy issues related to life, marriage, family, adoption, faith, public health, civil rights, child care, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), and Women, Infants, and Children (WIC)
  • Directed legislative agenda for agencies within policy portfolio, including establishment of legislative priorities, formulation and review of proposals, and testimony before legislature
  • Wrote and edited remarks and press releases for Governor on relevant public policy issues
  • Advised Governor and staff on whether to support, oppose, or amend all legislation in policy portfolio
  • Reviewed and approved all Family Impact Statements and regulations promulgated by state agencies within public policy portfolio
  • Developed policy proposals to advance Governor’s goal of promoting health and safety of Hoosier families and children
  • Represented and spoke on behalf of Governor at House and Senate committee hearings as well as at external events

 

Governor’s Health Workforce Council, Member – 2015 to 2017

  • Strategized with state agencies, National Governors Association, and outside stakeholders to develop action plan to address Indiana’s health workforce needs
  • Reviewed and selected all Council members for appointment by Governor
  • Developed and approved all agenda items, recommendations, and reports made by Council

 

Indiana Commission for Women, Member – 2013 to 2017

  • Oversaw strategic projects conducted by Commission
  • Reviewed and approved all agenda items for Commission meetings

 

Governor’s Adoption Study Committee, Director – 2013

  • Drafted enabling legislation to create Committee, define members, and outline Committee priorities
  • Reviewed and selected all Committee members for appointment by Governor
  • Set Committee’s agenda and determined topics for study
  • Authored Committee’s Interim Report and Final Report

 

Scheduler & Executive Assistant for the Governor – 2013

  • Managed Governor’s daily schedule, including approximately 200 scheduling requests per week
  • Coordinated logistical details for events across the state with both internal and external entities

 

Legislative Assistant – Congressman Mike Pence – 2009 to 2012

  • Oversaw all public policy issues related to life, family, marriage, tax, small business, education, transportation, veterans, housing, welfare, labor, and United States Postal Service
  • Drafted amendment language to end taxpayer subsidies to Planned Parenthood Federation of America and spearheaded its successful passage in the House by vote of 240-185
  • Staffed Congressman at committee hearings, advised regarding legislation, provided vote recommendations
  • Drafted speeches and House Floor statements for Congressman
  • Interviewed, hired, and supervised all interns for the office (approximately 15-20/year)​

Lind currently resides in Indianapolis and is an active member and volunteer at Traders Point Christian Church.
