Joe Murray

Joe has worked in a wide array of legislative policy and leadership roles on Capitol Hill in both the United States House of Representatives and United States Senate with a policy emphasis in judiciary, health care, entitlement reform, & campaign finance issues. He currently serves as a senior government affairs advisor for a national rare disease patient advocacy group and consults for technology/telecommunications, criminal justice reform, and health care focused clients. Joe has been a leader in a number of civic and political organizations including local, state, and national campaigns, a candidate for elective office for the Virginia General Assembly, Vice President of his neighborhood’s civic association, Co-Chairman of a snow removal neighborhood organization, and is the 2017 Deacon Chairman of the Diaconate as well as a Sunday school teacher to Fourth Grade boys in his local church. He recently graduated from the Alexandria City Academy, a local government civics course designed to help citizens better engaged with their community. Joe also serves as a Specialist in the Virginia Defense Force, the Commonwealth of Virginia’s volunteer military organization whose mission is to assist the Virginia National Guard and is a State Senate appointee currently serving in the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Disability Commission in Richmond, VA. Joe is a licensed attorney in Virginia, having earned his law degree from the Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law in Washington, DC and his BA in Political Science (Economics minor) from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. He and his wife, Katie, reside in Northern Virginia and are proud parents of two young children, Ella and AJ.
